Last Saturday we headed to the beach for our vacation. We had originally planned to go to Disney World, but realized we would have just melted. We changed our destination to Grayton Beach. We stayed a block over from the Red Bar and walking distance to the beach and the lake. If you've not been to 30-A, you've got to do it. It's our absoulute favorite destination spot as far as beaches go. It's old and there are no condos, mainly houses or townhomes. The beach is not crowded and if you go to Grayton you have the lake which is an excellent spot for toddlers to frolic in. This trip was our first week long vacation. It was absolutely wonderful. We've gone to Gatlinburg, snow skiing and small trips to the beach. Each of those made me feel as if I needed a vacation from my vacation because we felt as if we were rushed to get here to see this; whereas, this week we stayed up late, slept late and woke up wondering what we were going to do for the day. On Father's Day we went to the beach and ate at the Red Bar. We were accompanied by our friend Chad Brooks and Meg Weant. Meg's mom owns an art gallery that is AWESOME, Big Mama's www.bigmamashulagirlgallery.com/ . On Monday, Lynn and Madison joined us for a couple days at the beach. Monday night we ate at Stinky's Fish Camp, which was just ok. Tuesday night Scott went to the local fish market and got sword fish and I made shrimp scampi. Lynn and I also got the girls on the beach and tried to get some pics as you will see later in this post. Wednesday we took Ivy to the Gulfarium. She loved it! I was not that thrilled as it was soooooo hot and crowded! On the way back we stopped at the Backporch for oysters and daquaries. Thursday and Friday was just relaxing on the beach and the pool. Friday night we went to Pandora's. Saturday morning we sadly had to pack our items and return home. Before leaving we ate at Another Broken Egg... oh my, it was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!

Continuing to fill the summer days!

Swimming at Joni's has become a regular. I had to post a pic of her beautifully landscaped pool!

Photobucket This is the card Ivy chose for her daddy on his 31st birthday! It plays Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I wonder if it's a hint for daddy to take her to disney world.

Photobucket Making daddy's cake. She wanted it pink in the middle with chocolate and pink writing...

Photobucket It was not the most beautiful thing in the world. Especially since I only had a bundt pan. It was truly made with love!

Photobucket
We now have the Tervis collection as these were for daddy from Ivy.

Photobucket Sorry, horrible pic... still figuring out this camera!!! but Scott coming home from work and Ivy sang happy birthday.

Photobucket Madison finally came home from her cruise. Ivy asked about her everyday. I had to explain they had no phones on the boat. he he he she was excited to hang out with her buddies, Madison and Lacey.

Photobucket Friday night Ivy stayed with Scott's mom. We so rarely do anything with out her. She cried, I wanted to cry.. So, Saturday I took her to Dothan for a trip to Toys R Us. She picked out this Island Barbie Princess dress. It is sooo cute to see how she really thinks she is a princess.. She's definitely our princess!

Photobucket I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PIC. Ivy LOVES to dance in her princess dresses. Her daddy is her prince and she did tell me she was going to marry him because he was the prince. This is a pic I caught of the two ballroom dancing in the livingroom. I love the smiles!

Today was the first day of our VBS. Ivy had a really good time. I was sooo glad she did well leaving me for me to work with another group. She did not even cry when she saw me passing by.

Keeping busy!

Saturday we went swimming with some friends. Here's Mr. Zane throwing ivy in the air. Ivy and Lacey had a blast doing that and I think wore out Mr. Zane as well.

Ivy loves to play dress up. Scott has just taught Ivy the Auburn fight song. Still wondering if it's ok for a 3 year old to say give em hell, give em hell???? Anyways, Ivy wanted to dress up as the AU cheerleader!

Ok, if you are one of my facebook buddies, you may have seen my post about how i'd NEVER EVER EVER EVER be a SAHM!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a job being at home keeping this girl entertained and at the same time keeping my house picked up. Luckily, my friend Joni from school has invited us to her pool anytime and that has been nice in the afternoons. I've got to take some pics at her pool. It's absolutely gorgeous with the landscape and I'll even say the elephant waterfall is beautiful (although, i'm not a bama fan)! So, one thing we did was bake cupcakes. We got silly with the colors and started mixing which looks a little hippy which is our style anyways!!:)
