Random Summer activities

I took this picture as it was a memory I had growing up. Not really sure why my grandmother had this jar filled with water and marbles, but it was always fun to look down in. Ivy and I spent time helping watch my grandmother. She has alzheimers and is at the point of not remembering us. She has her better days and sometimes her not so good days. She was such a blessing in my life. I'm glad Ivy has got to spend some time with her. Although, Ivy seeing my grandmother in this state has not been so good on her. One afternoon after leaving Granny's Ivy began crying. She told me she did not want to grow old like Granny. I told her everyone grows old and we have to take care of them. I asked her if she was going to take care of me or put me in a nursing home. She said the nursing home.... I guess I better start planning for child number 2. lol!

Dinner on the front porch. Ivy fixed the tables and chairs so we could have dinner on the front porch.
A few afternoons this summer we could be found at Point A trying to beat the heat.

After 2 years, Ivy finally is driving her Barbie Jeep. After many rides with her buddies driving her around, she finally figured it out.
Little princesses!!!

Madison swimming without floaties.
Lacey
Ivy taking a pic of herself.

Tambry and I took Ivy and Carter to the beach for an afternoon.

4th of July 2010

Smoke and Lace (Scott, Phillip and Tambry) played the City's Firework show this year. I was sad to return from the beach 2 days early, but we enjoyed the performance and Ivy was in awe of the fireworks show!

Grayton Vacation Day 7

THE SUN WAS OUT!!! We were early to the beach! There is a lake that empties into the ocean at night when the tide comes in. This year, it was barricaded to keep the oil out of the lake. Because there was sooo much rain they had to drain the lake. It was so weird to see sooo much water in the lake. Kids were actually surfing when the waves came in. During the time of the water being drained there were huge sand piles. Ivy had the best time running up and down, riding her buggy board down or just plain rolling down the hill. It was a fun day at the beach. So glad we had one more good day before we headed back to Andy. We ended the evening at Hurricanes.
